When Only a Polka Dot Will Do

There's nothing quite like polka dots to lighten up a design -- even one that uses black paper and black and white ribbon. I was inspired by StamperSharon at SCS who made this card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=348646&cat=7221&perpage=48 I remembered seeing that Sharon had used Bodacious Bouquet with black paper and polka dot ribbons used in a similar manner, and then I made the design my own. I stamped the flowers and leaves with SU White Craft Ink, heat set and then colored with prismacolor pencils. Didn't get quite the pop I was hoping for, so I used the the white signo gel pen to outline each flower and center. That gave me the look I was seeking! I used my favorite polka dot organza ribbons from www.reasonableribbon.com and made a fold with the Scor-It so that the card opens without disturbing the ribbons.

  1. Fantastic card Joan. At first I thought your stamping of flowers was background paper. Very pretty!
