Featured Artist: Sue Jacobsen

Today's Featured Artist, Sue Jacobsen, uses the name "blueonblue" on splitcoaststampers.

Sue's gallery is packed with interesting, beautifully executed little gems. Please take a look and get inspired!
Sue lives in a suburb of Portland, Oregon and has been stamping and scrapbooking for about 8 years, 4 of which she has been an SU demo. Since she didn't think she could ever stamp (silly girl!), Sue started out by cutting out flowers and other objects from magazines and gluing them onto c/s. Sue reported: "I actually sold these to a small gift shop! I like selling. Because I do not participate in the holidays, I have had the challenge of designing workshops for my customers who do. I concentrate on seasonal themes, instead, which is ok with them. I have been published in the Rubber Stamper Magazine and the RubberStampMadness (full article)."
Sue has 7 grandkids and 2 children and so she anticipates scrapbooking for a long time. She and a small group of orphaned demos come together for monthly meetings where they discuss business and stamp together. She's also part of a larger group in the Portland/Vancouver area where they meet each quarter and get great business tips and ideas. "My upline's motto *stamping is cheaper than therapy!* and isn't this so very true? " Sue specializes in teaching fee based classes. She's taught in the elementary schools, teen shops, mom/kid shops and has taught at craft and stamp shops all around town. I also am planning a fund raiser for my 6 year old's school in January. She concluded by sharing with me that "The funnest part of stamping for me is finding ideas to work from, which can be found literally anywhere from a magazine ad to a TV commercial. Once I get an idea I just love sitting alone just me and my stamping stuff making a little 4.25x5.5 piece of c/s come alive!" By the way, Sue also has a blog -- www.suejacobsen.blogspot.com
Now that we are all inspired, time to stamp!
