Friends

There are different kinds of friends -- childhood, work related, long time, and then my "new" internet friends. I was telling my husband last night how touched I've been at how my internet friends have reached out to me during the past few months. You've inspired this card. As usual, the picture doesn't reflect the true colors of this card. There is no blue in this card! Everything I used for this card is from Stampin Up, except the watercolor paper, the black pen and the black Memories ink. The flower is from Natural Beauty. I watercolored the main image on watercolor paper, using orange and red reinkers and an artichoke watercolor crayon. I made the background with the Cheesecloth background stamped with classic white ink on artichoke paper, and then stamped the words in black over it. I used a black pigment pen to go over the word "FRIEND" and to draw the little lines around the focal image. I painted the borders around the main image by drawing with orange and artichoke watercolor crayons and smoothed out the lines with a very wet watercolor brush. If you saw the card, you'd notice some sponging on the layers as well. Well, I started this little project about 6 hours ago! What a fun day. How lucky I am to have the time to do what I love.
