Pinecone Wishes

I wake up most mornings and quickly check Debbie Olsen's Thinking Inking blog. All of her cards are an absolute day starter and inspiration! There is something about Debbie's layouts that are just perfect -- every element adds to the whole and I dream of taking classes from her someday. In short, I want to be Debbie when I grow up!! In fact, I've stalked her blog soo much, the dear has taken pity on me and is sending me a Debbie original card. This is making my day!!!
In the meantime, I was inspired by her Pinecone Christmas card, so I pulled out SU's Peaceful Wishes, Wishing You and the little stars from Trees Three to make this card. The base of the card uses True Thyme and I stamped the focal image on Naturals Ivory, using the Cornish Heritage Farms Mulberry background stamped in Encore Gold to add some depth on both the focal and the base cardstocks. Like Debbie, I cut out a pinecone in an effort to add further depth to the card. I inked the berries with Ruby Red and layered a strip of gold cardstock over the ruby red cardstock to form a horizontal border under the focal image. I'm trying, but I just can't get the Debbie Look!! But I have years of learning to go! Have a great day.
