Krafty Birthday Wishes
Here's a basic all-purpose birthday card that is easy to make -- and you can substitute any favorite color combo. Supplies Used: Papertreyink Green Thumb set for the flowers and center dot; Impression Obsession WP17 Sentiments II for Warm Birthday Wishes (3 different clear stamps); Limited Edition Art Warehouse Ribbons and Lace clear stamp set (to make the faux ribbon pieces); Stampin Up Kraft and Night of Navy cardstocks and classic inks; Stampin Up Sage Shadow classic ink; and the shiny green mini brads are from Prima Accents in Meadow purchased from Paperosity. About the Sentiments II set, you get a boat load of clear words for $17.00 and they stamp beautifully. However, the beginning and end of each word is surrounded by a bit of extra "photopolymer" -- a/k/a acrylic -- but way stronger. In order to get the words nice and close to one another, trim the beginning and end of each word prior to placing on your clear block. I had to experiment about 10 times to get just the right placement -- the downside to clear stamps. But, the combinations I can make with this set are truly huge!!
This is so pretty, Joan! I love the Navy and Sage with the Kraft paper! Love the pearlized brads as well! Nice card!!
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon looks real. Dang, you're good with those faux ribbon stamps! Cute card!
ReplyDeleteJoan, I haven't seen many cards with a kraft base, but you did fantabulous on coordinating the blue and green against the kraft color! LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card as usual Joan. I love that your cards are "always" original.

Oh my gosh Joan. I just read your blog again. I can't believe I missed the fact that you made this card using one of the Chatterbox kits. I have been looking at them and thinking how pretty they are and then passing them up. Next time I go to Michaels I will be buying one of thes kits. You are an enabler Joan. :)

Great card!! I like your color combo, especially for a masculine card. You know everyone is searching due to Father's Day being not too far away. I don't really care for the Kraft paper but this is an excellent choice. Thanks for opening my eyes and sharing.
