Your Cards Are Better

Here's the inside of the card my son gave me for Mother's Day: He knows just how to get to my heart! And, here's a card I made for my Mom for Mother's Day: Stamped Both Way Blossoms from SU onto Beckett's Expression #80 cardstock iceberg color (to answer a question -- yes, it comes in a variety of colors and candlelight is an off white, lighter than SU's Very Vanilla) in Black Memories ink and colored in with Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery Markers from SU. Cut out the panel of flowers and adhered to a Celery card. "It's Your Day" is from one of the SU All Year Cheer sets -- punched out with SU's two tag punches, and tied with May Arts ribbon through a Certainly Celery Brad. I'm not big on these tags, but I have the punches and decided it was time to put them to use!

if sharing Andy's card (and his wonderful sentiment) is the only reason (of course it isn't) for your blog - absolutely worth it!

  11. Don't you just love the things kids say and do! You can feel very fortunate because kids tell it like it is! He thinks yours are better - WOW! And a boy, no less! I am very impressed. As for your card, thanks for giving me a great sample using Two way blossoms. I just received mine and was looking at ways to use it.

  13. Joan... that is such a wonderful idea to cut out the panel like that around the top of the flowers. This is such a pretty card. My best wishes to your Mom. And, your son's sentiment about your cards being better must have made your Mother's Day!

  20. It means even more that he wrote that at the risk of getting a big HUG from Mom, too! I'd probably get all teary eyed. My son (32 yrs old) gave me a card with Sponge Bob in his underwear and it meant everything to me. The card you made is very pretty and feminine. Flowers and polka dots get to me every time!
