Simple Joys

Yum -- strawberry shortcake! Papertrey Ink stamps! Not sure which is better, but both bring real joy! Supplies Used: Shimmery white cardstock (source unknown); Stampin Up Real Red and Green Galore Cardstock, Black Gingham ribbon; Classic Black ink; brads;Corner Rounder punch (with the guard removed to make the scallops); and Papertrey Ink Green Thumb stamp set. I know that I've seen a card similar to this one, but I cannot recall where I saw it. If you made one that looks like this, please let me know so that I can credit you with the inspiration. ********** Does anyone else have an ATG gun and have trouble with it? I cannot get the roll of tape to dispense smoothly -- the whole roll gets all messed up. It worked fine for a while but I just put in a new roll (actually, my husband did!) and it is messing up again. Is this me, do I have a defective gun, or are they all like this?

  1. This is sooooo cute! I love the colors; makes me want to get my stamps out and play right now! I wish I could find a local source for shimmery white; I just ordered some this week from SU but it's so expensive!;

  3. I love the colors and scalloped edge! Nice card!

    I love my ATG gun! I have had problems occasionally with it, but realized that I just needed to use a little more pressure when dispensing. You don't think this could the problem, do you?

  4. I haven't had that problem with my ATG. Have you watched the cowboy movie (at framingsupplies.com) about how to load the tape? It took me awhile to get the tape really wound on there tightly. Hope you can get it fixed!

  6. Joan, found your blog through another and I just love your cards. I make cards, but mine are mostly beaded and stitched, but I have a ton of Stampin Up, so maybe you have inspired me to get them out. Beautiful cards.

  7. The last time I loaded my ATG gun, I loaded the roll backward. Worked horrible! You may ask, "how do you load a CIRCLE backward???" The sticky side of the tape needs to be on the outside, coming off the bottom of the roll (open gun lying on table, rollers facing left,handle of gun towards you). Yes, the sticky side needs to touch that first roller.

    Hope that helps!

  8. Love the colors that you used for this card Joan. I love that you used the shimmery white paper and then made the bottom edge scalloped.So pretty.

    I hope you can get your ATG gun working. I do not own one so no tips from me. :(

  9. Sounds like you may have the roll on upside down. I've had my ATC for about 2 years and it works great. I don't know what I'd do without it. As someone mentioned, go view the video and try to reload it.

  10. Joan, The strawberry theme seems to be popular right now. I did a card too this weekend on my blog:
    http://faithartistry.blogspot.com in honor of the local strawberries being available & oh are they yummy. It was nice to see your take on this theme as well. Ida
