Crunch, Crunch

This is for my husband, whose picture is at the bottom of this blog. He's a dear man, who puts up with me and all my shenanigans. I wanted to have "bite" marks on the card -- to create the impression that the alligator is up to no good! -- and after much pondering, finally thought of using a scalloped punch. I'm not sure it works without the explanation, but I think it's kind of cute. By the way, this picture makes it look like the bottom corners of the card are cut out. They are not -- it is the card holder that is in the way, and frankly, I'm too tired/lazy to re-shoot the picture. Materials Used: Old Olive and Night of Navy cardstock (SU); Brilliant Blue Classic Ink; Wild About You and Definition background, both by SU. The saying is from a TAC set. Hodgepodge Hardware and Navy ribbon complete the ensemble!

  1. I love it! The scalloped punch for the bite is an awesome idea! Love seeing punches used in cool new ways. Beautiful card.

  2. What a very creative card you have made. You did not have to explain the bite out of the card. I got it right away and thought WOW what a great idea.

  3. The card's cute and I totally knew it was teeth marks, you didn't have to explain. Now that we've seen Mike, when do we get to see you!?

  4. Joan,
What a great card. :-) The bite mark is perfect.
Your husband seems very nice and looks like a "keeper" for sure! I wanna see your picture too!
I say this all the time...I'll say it again....
Your blog is awesome and I enjoy visiting everyday! :-)

  8. I just found your blog from a post you made on SCS. I love the colors and using the scalloped punch for the bite marks totally worked- no explanation needed!

  9. Very cute card. I knew there was a bite taken out of it as soon as I saw it.

  10. I love this and will totally CASE it for an upcoming workshop. The "bite" is just genius!! THANKS!!!
