Featured Artist: Judy Bost

"Judylb" -- Judy Bost -- is the creative genius behind these cards. Look at the TGIF's card -- is that clever or what?? Judy created it in response to a TGIF challenge on splitcoaststampers (SCS). I just love it when a card pops out in the galleries that doesn't look like ANY other card I've ever seen. And, this card just screams "I've got to know more about the stamper, and I would love to have her for a friend!" So, I checked out the rest of Judy's gallery and found tons of lovely cards. If you spend enough time looking through the galleries (yes, I know I could be stgamping then), you get to recognize when someone is just a little different. Now here's the kicker!! Good grief, Judy's been stamping for only a year!! I don't know whether to applaud or have a pity party for myself. In any event, I asked Judy to share with my faithful blog readers (um, that would be YOU), a little about herself. Judy emphasized that the first thing you need to know about her work is that she works with "limited supplies". "I didn't own a stamp or ink pad until about a year ago. Most of my work was computer generated images, cutwork, quilling, etc, to fill in the empty space. Stumbled onto splitcoaststampers by accident and it has been the best thing that could happen. I don't have any stamping buddies, so this place has been a wealth of information and inspiration and full of the best cyber friends." Judy lives outside Kansas City, MO and has been retired since '97. She's married and has two furry kids, a dachshund and afghan hound. Until a few years ago she and her husband enjoyed sailboating and scuba diving. Now cardmaking is Judy's #1 hobby -- when she can find the time. Judy told me that the weekly challenges on SCS are a wonderful way to pick up new techniques and help her think outside the box--plus she love to get ideas by browsing the awesome galleries on SCS. ************************************************************************************ By the way, on Blog News, every day at least 5 folks sign up to receive email announcements when I post something new on this blog. I have an audience! Paperlicious is rated #1 on the Top Listed Stamping sites!! At least it was the last time I checked. I've changed "site counters" several times so I really don't know how many "hits" this site has received since the beginning, but it is fun to sit in my computer/stamping room and feel a connection to lots of other stampers. Thanks! And I really appreciate it when someone leaves a comment. (Hint) Hope you have a bootackular Halloween! Oh, and tomorrow's post -- barring any crises that could prevent me from getting to the computer -- will have another contest!
