I Heart You

I HEART all the comments on my last post. Reading what you want in a stamping blog is very interesting, but overwhelming. Good thing that there are hundreds of other stampin blogs out there! I would love to create a new card to upload every day, but I actually find that my creative juices dry up when I feel like I "have" to make something. So, I cannot post something new every day. But, in the meantime . . . I love this card! I had to go to a 6 hour training session/meeting today and was sketching card designs while listening (I can definitely multi-task!). I think this card is perfect for my son to send to his Grandparents for Valentine's Day. I was inspired by this card in JulieHRR's gallery on splitcoast. Her card uses Stampin Up's Square Pegs Jumbo Wheel. When I saw her card last year, I bought the wheel, but I've never been able to pull off using that wheel. So, I substituted this patterned paper from Die Cut With a View. The rest of the supplies are: (All Stampin Up unless otherwise noted): Sweet on You stamp set (available in the current Winter Mini), Santa Rosa All That Jazz alphabet set; Pewter Hardware Hodgepodge; Black Gingham ribbon; Black, Real Red and White cardstock; Black Memories Ink, Real Red classic ink; adorable tiny stitched red ribbon, which I purchased from Starlitstudio; 1 3/8" SU square punch and a Photo Corner punch from Paper Shapers. If you look very closely, you'll notice that I stamped on the red cardstock with red ink (using the Sweet on You set) -- when making a subtle background I prefer using the same color ink on cardstock instead of Versamark, simply because dye ink is easier to clean off of a stamp than Versamark. Easy is always better!

  3. She's gonna love receiving this card. I didnt answer yesterday 'cause I have a ton of primas and didnt need to be part of the giveaway. I like reading your blog, seeing how you compare products and techniques in a side by side comparison. I also love reading about how you are inspired, and the thought process that goes with creating something. Its also fun to peek into different crafting spaces. Of course its your blog, just do what makes you happy :) Adelle
