Over 30,000 and Counting! Give Away!!
I've been watching the little counter on my blog waiting for it to "turn" over 30,000. I had to re-set it October 1 (at least I think it was October 1), so it has been fun to watch. I decided that when it turned over 30,000, I'd do another "give away." I will be sending an assortment of patterned papers to some lucky stamper (some Stampin Up, some not). Leave a comment naming your favorite stamp company OTHER THAN Stampin Up! and why you like that line of stamps. I'll keep the contest open until Friday, January 5th, at 9:00 pm on the east coast of the US! (I can never remember if we are on or off daylight savings time!) and have my son pick a lucky winner. (Note: comments that just say I only love SU will NOT be eligible to win, but are welcome nonetheless! I'll announce the winner over the weekend. Other news: My mom was back in the hospital on New Year's Eve, but is home today. I was just feeling too pitiful sorry for myself to even post that news a few days ago. But, she's doing really well and hoping for a New York Giants victory this weekend. Go Giants! And, finally, a whole bunch of A2 Cuttlebug Embossing Folders came in the mail today! Woohoo!
One of my favorite stamp companies is Hero Arts because of their clear design stamps. I love the new alphabet clear designs, I just wish that we didn't have so many letters in the alphabet (at $7 something a letter!)
ReplyDeleteHoping your Mom continues on the road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourites besides SU is Fontwerks.
Congratulation on all of the hits!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite stamping companies (in no order) are Amuse, Hero Arts, Magenta, Outlines, Impress....
My current favorite company is A Muse. I love their stamps, their store in Seattle and all the ideas I get from bloggers who use their stamps. A close runner up would be Rubber Soul, a company located in WA whose stamps have a similar look.
ReplyDeleteMy other favorite stamp company is TAC. I like that they don't take up a lot of room for storage and they're easy to use. They have a nice variety and some really cute and wimsical designs. And they don't drain your bank account.
ReplyDelete~~Rita~~
Lets see there is TAC, sons of light, SU, and most recent purchase for me would be some penguins made by whipper snapper.... I just love the cute penguins from whipper snapper...
ReplyDeleteI too really love the backgrounders from Cornish Heritage Farms. I've bought loads of them because they are so affordable. I also like Penny Black and Inky Antics. I hope your Mom continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteSharon
Oh hey....a million thanks for helping me with the fraps bottles. I made 2 sets as gifts and they went over really big. Sorry I couldn't send a picture, but my camera died! Thanks a bunch!!
Love your blog, Joan!
ReplyDeleteEven though I personally can't root for the Giants (my husband is from Philly), I'm hoping that your mom enjoys the game on Sunday.
My favorite stamp company besides SU! would have to be Hero Arts. I love their flower designs. And their hearts. They just make me happy!
My favorite new stamp company besides SU is Amuse. They have some of the cutest stamps and I have seen so many cute card samples.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your mom is home again and doing better.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite company is Hero Arts! Their designs are timeless and so versatile and they seem to be able to keep their prices more reasonable than some other companies. Their catalog has so many good ideas each year, too. I get in deep poo every year with the new catalog.
Congratulations on a great blog! I'd have to pick Stampabilities because I love House Mouse stamps.
ReplyDeleteThere are many that would be at the top of the list, but I have to choose Hero Arts. I like their consistent quality and fresh ideas, and they always put out a very impressive catalog and supplements. (My all-time favorite would actually be Stampa Barbara, but they are no longer in business).
ReplyDeleteDeniseB
One of my other favorite companies is Pink Cat Studio. I love them because they are Canadian (yay for more convenient shipping!!), the stamps are unmounted and very reasonably priced, and the art is very fun and whimsical!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your mom is back home.
ReplyDeleteMy 'other' favorite stamp companies are:
A Muse
Rosie Roadshow
Rubber Hedgehog
Hero Arts
House Mouse (Stampabilities?)
This is fun... Thanks for doing this for us!
Have a stamp-a-riffic day!
Renee
I've seen other stamps thatI like from Technique Tuesday. One set in particular I wish SU would copy (er...cough, cough) was of flower petals you could make a flower out of.
ReplyDeleteHope your Mum is feeling better:)
Karen in Toronto
I found the company StampsHappen during December - got a cute little angel and another with a darling snowman.
ReplyDeleteHope your Mom is recovering.
Blessings to your Mom! I like Penny Black because of the elegance of their brush stroke stamps & fun of hedgehogs. A couple others would be Just For Fun, Toybox, Beeswax Purple Onion & Eat Cake Graphics. Did I miss any???? LOL
ReplyDeleteI really like Hero Arts and Penny Black (especially the brush strokes). The lines are relatively clean and I tend to lean toward the clean lines -- not cutsy or artsy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your mother is a bit better and rooting for the Giants.
Denise
Lovin your blog, Joan. I guess the stamps I use most besides my SU stamps are my Michael's $1 stamps LOL! I loved the Christmas line, especially the snowflakes and snowman! And they're a bargain, to boot.
ReplyDeleteMichelle
My other favorite stamps companies are American Art Stamp and Inkadinkadoo....The most recent stamp from the American Art company that I bought has this rather haggard looking woman obviously shopping for Christmas and it is says "On Dasher, On Dancer, On Master and Visa." I did quite a few Christmas cards with that stamp and actually got phone calls thanking me for the card! It made them laugh out loud and brightened their day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your blog!
Jennie H.
I absolutely love the Rhonna Farrer Swirls and Flourishes sets from Autumn Leaves. I find myself turning to these sets to add simple elegance to a card.
ReplyDeleteI love A Muse stamps...lvoe them!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your mom is back feeling well soon!
I have two other favorites - Hero Arts and Purple Onion Design, which sells unmounted red rubber, mostly alphas, really nice stamps, and quite cheaply priced!!
ReplyDeleteSusan
moot96@aol.com
My favorite non-SU! stamps are the from the Michael's $1 bin.
ReplyDeleteWhy, you ask??
'Cuz they're cheap, cute and I don't care if my kids get into them or not, LOL! ;o) (Well, and mostly because I don't really own any non-SU! stamps)
Congrats on the big # of visitors. You've got a great blog!! :o)
I like many of the new stamp companies that I'm seeing, but my favorite will always be Penny Black's Brush stroke stamps. When I need a quick card or just want to play these are the first stamps that I reach for. The images are so elegant and versatile.
ReplyDeletekeeping your mom in my prayers for a speedy recovery of health.
ReplyDeletemy almost new son-in-law to be is a giants fan, sorry... must keep daughters happy!LOL
my new stamps are Lockhart Stamps, they are fun and unique and really nice lines. i have over 6 now and i am really pleased with them.

I really like the Cornish Heritage Farms stamps. I have several of their background stamps and they are wonderful in looks as well as price.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a great blog.
Cheryl
I love your blog -- I am so appreciative that you take the time to detail out all the steps when you make something. I am sorry that your mom was in the hospital again -- but glad she is already back home.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite stamp company besides SU is A Muse, although I like Inky Antics as well.
Susan
Magenta, by far!!! (and a Canadian company to boot!)
ReplyDeleteI really like the Michael's $1 stamps as well! I will admit that I own mainly SU! For no reason other than since I am a demo I can sell them. The cost is a big factor. Someday when I win the lotto I will buy ANY stamps that make me smile and not worry about can I pay for them?
ReplyDeleteI know that this time in your life is hard with your mother's health, but you have all of our wishes that you'll rise above all of the storms and that your mom will find comfort in the love of a faithful daughter.
ReplyDeleteI love Penny Black. They have wonderful papers, stickers and great stamps as well. Their stamps run the gamut from extremely elegant to whimsical fun. Great company!
Jayne
I am slowing falling in love with A Muse stamps. My fave right now is the polka dot alphabet!!
ReplyDeleteBarb
My favorite stamp company other than SU is Inkadinkado. They have such wonderful stamps and I always find myself drawn to them.
ReplyDeleteHope your Mom is feeling better soon,
Claudia
My new favorite obsession...er...stamp company is Stamping Bella. They are adorable, fresh and something for everyone. Em, the owner, is absolutely the sweetest person to deal with also. You can see them here www.stampingbella.com Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI like Technique Tuesday (love their stamps and their chipboard....)I also love Rubber Soul and Impress (I live in the Seattle area and they are local companies/stores that I enjoy).
ReplyDeleteI also love Viva Las Vegas...many of their stamps crack me up, and of course I love House Mouse which is Stampabilities.
I love to go to the rubber stamp convention and see new/different companies too. Last time I went there was someone who made beautiful photographic stamps (can't remember who now) and there was someone who made stamps from little kids' drawings..cute, cute, cute. Just nice to see something new and different.
The stamp company I like other than SU! is InkyAntics. Their images are just too cute and not that expensive. Then, there are the $1 stamps from Michael's. They are cheap, cute, and really work well. Happy New Year!!!!
ReplyDeleteI tend to go for whimsical stamps. Stamps by Judith offer so many adorable stamps that I find them hard to resist.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list for new stampers -like me- to learn about new companies! Thanks for doing this!
ReplyDeleteI really like Hero Arts-for the flowers- and Penny Black-for the hedgehogs and other cutesy stamps !
~pl
I really like Hero Arts. But two Canadian stamp companies I've recently discovered and want to check out more are Stamping Bella and Gel-a-tins.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to your mom.
barb
Well, if it can't be SU, then I'd have to say Penny Black. The stamps represent free spirit to me.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your mom, but glad to see she's home. I think of you and yours each & every day. I'll include her in our Children's Choir intentions this afternoon.
Because I a new to this samping addiction, I mostly have SU!
ReplyDeleteBut I have just found A Muse and
I really, really like their fun, simple but also versatile stamps.
gailbird
Hero Arts..Creative Imaginations-.I LOVE all the stamps for Danelle Johnson. Clear Acylic stamps are my favs!! Oh yeh....Autumn Leaves are cool too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your hits. My blog is new & I've only got 440 so far.
I love the simplicity of Amuse Art Stamps. Such ease to create something a little edgy and cool.
ReplyDeleteI love the Inky Antics. I like the styles of their stamps. Glad your mom is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHope your Mom continues to improve. My fav stamp company other than SU! is Stampers Anonymous. Why? One name...Tim Holtz!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteJoan,
ReplyDeleteBesides my love for SU, I also an drawn to Penny Black. I love her brushstroke line, and her sentimet stamps. I also am loving AMuse, the fonts they use are so playful on their sentiment stamps.
I love you blog, and really appreciate your sharing your talent and creativity with us. And I'm glad your Mother is doing much better.
Other than SU, my favorite are amuse and Savvy. Similiar styles, really... clean and simple, though amuse has the slight edge with me.
ReplyDeleteSeveral years back a friend introduced them to me and I've been in love ever since. I have just been tickled pink with their emerging popularity!
I just love gel-a-tins! Super stamps, crisp images, and Canadian!
ReplyDeleteMy second favorite stamp company (after SU) is TAC. I love the simpleness of their images and they're cute without being too "cutesy." Love their gorgeous papers, too!
ReplyDeleteOther than SU, my fave company is becoming Gina K Designs! But I also love the Outlines designs. Thanks for the generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom is doing better soon.
It's difficult to narrow it down to one company!!! My fav would be Stampers' Anonymous!! Enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for offering the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I begin? I love Hero Arts, Penny Black, CTMH, Stampendous, and the list goes on. My stamping room has a little bit of every company in it.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Impress because they have a really unique style and very cool sentiments only they would think of!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity!
I would have to say that the company I like second best is A Muse.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I most enjoy (right now!) Time to Stamp. The quality of rubber is superb as are all the funky vintage images.
ReplyDeletePeace to you and your family!
Glad your Mom is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite stamp company other than SU is Close To My Heart. I like being able to see through the stamps to know where I'm lining things up, let's just say sometimes when I'm using rubber, I'm left with a couple "Practice Cards" before I get it right!
My favorite stamp company is the maker of the stamp I have in my hand at the time you are asking me :) Seriously, I love: Paula Best. Then, Magenta, Hero Arts, SU, Stamper's Anonymous. Some of the oldies: Stampa Barbara, Stampa Rosa (the original House Mouse stamps). Too many to name. I so love them all!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the word/saying stamps from Penny Black. They have the best and most unique quotes, and I always find myself using a variety of word stamps on my cards. I probably have an equal amount of word stamps as I do pictures, because I fall in love with the quotes/sweet sayings on so many stamps in the store!
ReplyDeleteI like some of the old backgrounds and words from CTMH. I love the adorably cool girls with curly hair that Penny Black makes. The look like my daughter.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your mom is back home and getting better!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite non-SU stamps are Savvy stamps. Haven't purchased any since SU overtook my life, but I still love the ones I have!
Hugs for your Mom! I've been in your shoes, so I'll be cheering for you as well.
ReplyDeletePenny Black is my current favorite, other than Su!
Love Paperlicious--thanks for your hard work!
I LOVE Inky Antics and Magenta....They are so awesome! And, I like Autumn Leaves and Fontwerks and....the list goes on and on....
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the hits - your blog is fab!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites, hmmmm. I love Magenta, Cherry Pie, Hero Arts, and about anything quirky (like Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers!)
Best to your mom.
ReplyDeleteAs to company, I have to pick Hero Arts. Quality and variety are important to me.
First off - Go Eagles!! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... so many awesome companies to choose from! Yes I do like SU, but my collection includes images from SOOOOOO many other sources. I really like Starving Artistamps, Stamp Camp, Art by Moonlight, Purple Onion Designs, Hearts in Touch, and My Heart Stamps 4 U (all companies that offer UM rubber). I just love the diverse selection that's available online!!
I would say that American Stamp Company is one of my favs.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite stamps would come from Impress Rubber Stamps because of the awesome samples they have, and the cute, unique embellishments to go with them.
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom continues to improve a little every single day.
I'm just starting to venture from SU into other companies...I'm really liking what I see from Amuse...kind of funky, but clean and simple.
ReplyDeleteI love Hero Arts for the type of artwork featured in their stamps.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your new Cuttlebug goodies.
ReplyDeleteI really like House Mouse Stamps. They are different, and most are pretty sweet.
I love the Amuse stamps and Whipper Snapper stamps. The Amuse are just so simple and easy to work w/ and the Whipper Snapper are too cute. Oh I like Inky Antics too.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan! I enjoy your BLOG!!
ReplyDeleteBesides SU my new favorite is Stampendous because I love the Fluffles stamps. I don't even own a cat but Fluffles is too cute
Joan I hope your mom perks up and starts doing better!
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite stamp company is a tiny little stamp creator Steve. His company is Meer Image. You can find his stuff at http://www.meerimage.com/. I just love his artistic style and studies of women in particular. I have a couple of his mermaid stamps and a few woman stamps too that I tend to use for stamped jewelry. I'm currently planning on stamping a light with one of the mermaid stamps. Fun fun! And his stuff is SUPER high quality.
My prayers our with your mother as she continues to recover.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite stamp companies is Impression Obsession. I like the clear stamp verses, it helps me with positioning.
Anne
Joan,
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom recovers! While I'm mainly a SU fan, I have to admit that I'm really liking the MissyB stamps as well--I love her sense of humor :-)
I like Inky Antics and I love that you can order directly from their website, but I LOVE the images from Penny Black. I'd love to get my hands on one of their catalogs! Sorry, can't pick just one favorite!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a tough one! There are so many awesome stamp companies to choose from. I really do like Hampton Arts, House Mouse, Stampsmith, Magenta, Stampendous, Inkadinkadoo...and so on. I have to admit my taste really varies when it comes to stamping. Being fairly new to stamping, I have a lot to learn about all the awesome stamp companies out there to buy from. Diane D. aka doverdi
ReplyDeleteHmm...I have several. A Muse, Savvy, Impress, GreenPepperPress, FONTWERKS!!! and Purple Onion Designs come to mind.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity, Joan! Great question! :)
I know this is past due but I just ordered some from The Cat's Pajamas...they are so stinkin' cute!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your feed hasn't been working for me...anyone else have issues with P A P E R L I C I O U S?
I'm late for the contest, but I just have to let you know how much I love Maryse Carrier and Purple Onion Designs. Both offer high quality red rubber, terrific service, and funky designs! :)
