More Information on the B & W Contest

Ok, I understand that some of you are frustrated over the rules or your inability to post a link to your card. Rest easy, my friends, there are solutions to all of these problems. Email me and we'll work it out. You can email me at: bardee1@cox.net Easy peasy. Now, although NOT one of you greedly little so and sos commented on MY Black & White card (LOL), I'll be so kind as to describe how I made it. I'm sure in the excitement of the contest, you just couldn't absorb the beauty of MY card!!! I've added a close up pic of the center detail here as well as this nifty punch. How I made the card: Using SU's Cardstock Vellum (thin vellum does NOT work as well), I ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Textile Embossing Folder. Voila, instant beauty and texture. I ran the embossed vellum through my Xyron and adhered it to a prefolded Very Vanilla card. Using the Giga rectangle punch, (which I think I purchased at joann.com using my free Amazon.com coupons!!), I punched out a matching piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and stamped the swirl background piece from Stampin Up's Carte Postale in SU White Craft ink. I embossed it with Clear Detail Embossing Powdered. Then I stamped the words "Mon Amie" from the same Carte Postale set in Black Memories ink. Taking the rectangle punch yet again, I punched a rectangle out of a bigger piece of SU black cardstock and then trimmed around it with my Genesis Paper trimmer to form a rectangle border. I could have just matted the Vanilla rectangle onto a black one, but then I would not have been able to slip the stiched red ribbon (from Starlitstudios) around it. I got the idea for this card from Atomicbutterfly's awesome card. She's one of my faves!

  3. How rude I was! I offer no excuses just rudeness! YIKES! It is a gorgeous card. It reminds me of the idea that my neice and I are talking about for her wedding invitations using that same embossing folder. Thank you for posting the instructions. It is truly beautiful!
